We’re back with another of our monthly spotlights on our incredible tribe bosses. This month we’re taking a peek into what life is like for Kate, who is the founder of BA Tidy Mind and co-Tribe Boss at our amazing Ilkley tribe.
We caught up with her to ask her about what life is like as a female business owner and her thoughts on life as part of Girl Tribe Gang…
1. What’s the name and nature of your business?
A Tidy Mind – Professional Decluttering, Home Organising & Simple Living Coaching.
2. Why did you decide to become a GTG Tribe Boss?
I bought into the concept of Girl Tribe Gang from the beginning and think I was one of the first people to join! When I realised how many female business owners were in Ilkley – my hometown, I felt excited to connect with them. I am sociable and love making people feel comfortable and supported.
3. What’s the best thing about being a Tribe Boss?
I love sharing this role with Anna Mewes because we compliment each other and it’s fun to do it as a pair. But the best thing is seeing members or guests make new connections and friendships and leave a meet up smiling.
4. What would you like to achieve for your Tribe in 2019 and beyond?
We’ll be introducing a few different activities to our meet ups to mix things up a bit. It’s often easier to connect if sharing a new experience. We have some amazing power hour speakers lined up and more Inspire & Connect sessions.
5. What’s your advice for someone thinking of joining Girl Tribe Gang?
If you want to meet genuine, friendly business women and traditional structured networking isn’t for you, then you’ll love GTG. The members could not be more inclusive and open and you’ll be welcomed into the group.
6. Share a moment you’re most proud of in life or business
I feel proud when I take my children to school and pick them up. It’s not something I would be able to do had I not started my business so that simple thing means a lot.
7. What’s your favourite thing to do to relax when you’re not working?
A ‘Slow Weekend Day’ where my family has no plans for a whole day. I love having the day stretch out with no firm commitments and we can just relax together, take the dog for a walk and potter around at home.
8. Name someone who inspires you and tell us why
Arianna Huffington. She’s brave and once said ‘Fearlessness is like a muscle. I know from my own life that the more I exercise it the more natural it becomes to not let my fears run me.’ I love that Arianna has started the Thrive community, which is redefining the definition of success in today’s society away from busyness and burnout and more towards self-care and quality of life.
9. Share a big business goal with us
I’d like to have my own TV show!
