We’re back with another of our monthly spotlights on our incredible tribe bosses. This month we’re taking a peek into what life is like for Rachel, who is the director and co-founder of Evans Lamsley Employment Law & HR Solicitors plus Tribe Boss at our amazing Chester tribe.
We caught up with her to ask her about what life is like as a female business owner and her thoughts on life as part of Girl Tribe Gang…
1. What’s the name and nature of your business?
I am the director and co-founder of Evans Lamsley Employment Law & HR Solicitors. We provide employment law and HR support to businesses and individuals, giving them the freedom to do more of what is important to them.
2. Why did you decide to become a Girl Tribe Gang Tribe Boss?
I know what it is like making the tough decision to quit the 9-5, given the certainty and stability that gives you. I have been through the rollercoaster of emotions that you go on to finally take the plunge to give it all up on a hope that you can achieve something so much more.
I wanted to support others who are also navigating through that journey so that they do not feel alone.
I want to be the sounding board that someone else may need to hear them out on their worries and anxieties! I am someone who needs to talk things out and so I want to be there for others in my community who sometimes just need to talk it out too!
3. What’s your advice for anyone thinking of joining Girl Tribe Gang?
My thoughts when making any decisions about my future is what is the return on that investment in time, emotional wellbeing and money.
GTG will not only offer you the support and network that you need to build you up, it may also help you build your business. That to me is totally worth investing in!
4. Share a moment you’re most proud of in life or business
My proudest moment in my personal life was getting married to my fantastic husband Rich. He has been my biggest supporter when taking the plunge to quit my job and start my own business. It was a huge risk to take and without his backing and resolute belief in me, I would never have done it.
In my career so far, it was handing in my notice. It was the moment I realised that I had the most unbelievable courage and belief in myself, as without that, I would never have taken such a huge step.
Once I had done that, I knew that was it – it was time to make this work!
5. What’s your favourite thing to do to relax when you’re not working?
Spending time with my friends and family has to be top of the list! Whether that is snuggling on the sofa watching a film or out and about exploring and travelling – I am super relaxed around my gorgeous family and friends!
6. Who is someone you really admire and why?
I really admire my dad.
He has the strongest work ethic I know and has really given absolutely everything a go. He has the biggest heart and the strongest will – he simply never gives up. He backs me on everything that I do.
My dad really is the most inspirational man I have ever met.
7. What’s something you want to do in the next year that you’ve never done before?
As a new business, my biggest goal this year is to hit our year one objectives. If we can do that, we can do anything!
If you’re a woman running your own business, or who aspires to work for herself in the Chester area and would like to join Rachel at a Tribe meet up, check out all the information the TRIBE pages of the website.
